After graduation I did three
years in the Signal
Corps,
including a tour in Vietnam with 5th BN, 42nd
Artillery.
After that I got an MS in Management Science from Clemson and worked
five years
with Owens-Corning Fiberglas in three locations. From 1979 to
1989 I
served in administrative roles with the International Mission Board of
the
Southern Baptist Convention in the Philippines (translation—we were
missionaries). We not only learned Cebuano and Tagalog but also
had a
ringside seat for the revolution. After we returned to the U.S.
in 1989 I
started an IT recruiting company and in 2000 redirected the business to
developing
order fulfillment software for the decorated apparel industry.
My wife Beverley and I have two daughters
and four
granddaughters.
Life now revolves around growing the business, working with a church we
helped
start four years ago and our extended family. I enjoy working too
much to
retire, but I find the idea of slowing down a bit to be more attractive
each
year.
